The King re-establishes Dalarna Regiment I 13

On Saturday 23 October, HM The King visited Falun to re-establish the Dalarna Regiment, I 13.

The Dalarna Regiment was disbanded in 2000, but the Riksdag decided last year that the regiment should be re-established.

During the ceremony, which was also attended by the Supreme Commander and the Minister for Defence, The King said:

I am firmly convinced that the Dalarna Regiment will contribute towards the continued positive development of Falun and Dalarna, and would like to convey my warmest wishes for success to all those of you who will now organise and establish the regiment.

"I hereby declare Dalarna Regiment I 13 re-established! Return the Dalarna Regiment's banner.

The Swedish Armed Forces establishes new units

Over the coming months, the Swedish Armed Forces will establish new regiments and a new air force unit.

Earlier in autumn 2021, The King re-established the Norrland Dragoon Regiment in Arvidsjaur, The Crown Princess re-established the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment at Gothenburg Garrison and Prince Carl Philip re-established Uppland Wing at Uppsala Garrison.
