The Crown Princess Couple visit Örebro County

Vaccination centre

The Crown Princess Couple then visited Boglundsängen vaccination centre in Vivalla, Örebro. There, healthcare personnel described how they have worked to provide information about vaccination by working in several different languages, having a presence within society and in residential areas, and working together with the county administrative board.

The Crown Princess Couple also learnt about the work relating to care hygiene, and spoke with workers from the mobile team who visit patients in their homes and provide advice.

Representatives from Region Örebro County described their Covid testing work. To streamline the resting process, residents can collect testing kits outside clinics without having to book an appointment.

Behrn Arena

At lunchtime, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visited Behrn Arena. There, they spoke with representatives from Örebro Hockey, the Swedish Sports Confederation and the Swedish Sports Education Organisation, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Lerbäck Theatre and Spångberg Choir, who described how the pandemic has affected sport, culture and associations.

City Mission

The afternoon began with The Crown Princess Couple visiting City Mission's food centre. The centre works with food shops in Örebro to deal with left-over food, which is then distributed to those in need in the form of food parcels. During their visit, The Crown Princess Couple learnt that demand for these food parcels grew significantly during the pandemic.

Tulläng Upper Secondary School

The day concluded with a visit to Tulläng Upper Secondary School, which is also a national upper secondary school for deaf and hearing-impaired students. There, The Crown Princess Couple met employees and students who talked about how distance teaching has worked during the pandemic.
