The Queen holds an audience with Saxony's Minister of Social Affairs

On Tuesday 11 June, The Queen held an audience with Saxony's Minister of Social Affairs and the Ministry for Justice's State Secretary. During the audience, they talked about the World Childhood Foundation's establishment of child advocacy centres in Germany.

In September 2018, The Queen opened Germany's first child advocacy centre in Leipzig, Saxony. Child advocacy centres are an initiative by the World Childhood Foundation, which The Queen founded in 1999, for children who are thought to have been victims of violence or sexual abuse.

The model focuses on the needs of the child. Here, relevant authorities and expertise are brought together under one roof, meaning that children only need to tell their story once.
