On Thursday 16 January, The King and The Crown Princess held an audience with Brigadier Gabor Nagy from the Swedish Armed Forces and Head of Unit Camilla Asp from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.

During the audience, The King and The Crown Princess received information about the total defence exercise that the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency will be carrying out this year together with government agencies, regions and municipalities, businesses and organisations.

The exercise will help to increase Sweden's resilience, and will be carried out in a fictional situation in which the Government has decided on heightened preparedness, the defence services have been mobilised and Sweden has been exposed to armed attack.

The exercise practises and tests decision chains at all levels and cooperation between societal players to ensure that critical functions within society can continue to operate and Sweden can withstand an armed attack.
