The Crown Princess wishes figure skaters good luck

On Wednesday 24 March, the World Figure Skating Championships began at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. The Crown Princess sent a digital greeting, wishing all the participants good luck.

The Swedish Figure Skating Association last hosted the world championships in Gothenburg in 2008. Then, The Crown Princess opened the event on the ice at the Scandinavium Arena.

During the opening ceremony for the 2021 world championships, The Crown Princess wished all the participants good luck via a digital greeting. In her message, The Crown Princess said:

"Ladies and gentlemen,

"I am so proud that our beautiful capital gets to host the World Figure Skating Championships.

"I really wish that I could have been at the Ericsson Globe Arena tonight for the grand opening ceremony. But I am glad to have this opportunity to send you all my best wishes.

"Just like millions of other viewers, all over the world, my family and I are looking forward to seeing the world's best figure skaters compete here in Stockholm.

"To all the participants and volunteers: The best of luck with the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021!"

195 skaters took part in the ISU World Figure Skating Championships at the Ericsson Globe Arena between 22 and 28 March.
