The Crown Princess Family attend the Biathlon World Championships

On Sunday 17 March, The Crown Princess Family visited Östersund to cheer on the Swedish skiers in the mass starts on the final day of the Biathlon World Championships.

The Biathlon World Championships are arranged annually, with the exception of Winter Olympic Games years. This year's championships were held in Östersund, and this was the fifth time Sweden had hosted the event since it began in 1985.

During their visit, The Crown Princess Family were accompanied by Chair of the Swedish Biathlon Association Sofia Domeij, who spoke about the competitions and the event. Together, they watched the mass starts of the ladies' and men's finals.

Between the competitions, The Crown Princess Family had the opportunity to meet volunteers working with the event and to find out about the work of the Swedish waxing team.
