On Thursday 10 September, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel met with CEO of the Swedish Performing Arts Association Mikael Brännvall and Director of the Swedish Union for Performing Arts and Film Mika Romanus.
During the meeting, The Crown Princess Couple were informed about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected businesses, institutions and professionals within the performing arts. Mika Romanus and Mikael Brännvall described the measures taken to alleviate the effects of the crisis and how they have worked in practice.
The Crown Princess Couple also learnt about various creative initiatives that have been taken to bring the performing arts to audiences under the current conditions, and about the industry's preparations for a safe restart.
The Swedish Performing Arts Association is an industry and employer organisation for activities within professional performing arts. The organisation represents more than 100 theatres, orchestras, opera houses, dance companies, regional music organisations, production companies and other organisations within Swedish performing arts.
The Swedish Union for Performing Arts and Film is a trade union within the performing arts and film-making industries. Its members are professional writers, artists, and technical and administrative staff within Swedish theatre, film, radio, TV and cinema. The union represents both salaried employees and self-employed workers. Its members also include actors, directors, singers, dancers, stage and costume designers, technicians and craftsmen.
