On Tuesday 27 November, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel took part in a seminar on creating motivation for children and young people.

The seminar was arranged by The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation, which works to combat exclusion and promote good health among children and young people. The invited speakers were:

  • Torkel Klingberg, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Karolinska Institute, who spoke about what motivation is and how we can strengthen the motivation of children and young people.
  • Nihad Bunar, a professor at Stockholm University's Department of Child and Youth Studies, who talked about the support needed by children and young people in socioeconomically deprived areas in order to cope with school.
  • Former freediving world record holder Yamina Enedahl, who spoke about her experiences in connection with goals, expectations and motivation in order to find her full strength.

Examples from projects supported by The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation were presented during the seminar. The participants also spoke with each other, discussing the initiatives needed in order to support and motivate pupils.
