Change of Government Council at the Royal Palace of Stockholm

On Monday 21 January, a Change of Government Council was held at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The Crown Princess, the Speaker and the new Government took part in the council.

The council was opened by The King, who chaired the meeting, and the Speaker explained about the formation of the Government. The King then noted that a change of Government had taken place in accordance with Chapter 6, Article 4 of the Instrument of Government.

Before The King brought the council to a close, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven spoke about the content of the Statement of Government Policy.

Sweden's new Government is led by Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, and consists of 22 ministers in addition to the Prime Minister.
