On Thursday 16 December, Prince Carl Philip received fir trees from Skogshögskolan, the Forestry Faculty.
Skogshögskolan was represented by Per Hoflund, Erik Mellgren, Olle Nylund and Victor Asmoarp, who talked about the trees. The trees included two Norwegian spruce and two silver fir trees, which come from Dalby in Skåne. Prince Carl Philip also heard from Victor Asmoarp that the silver fir, also called 'king's fir' in Swedish, got its current name in the 1960s when Skogshögskolan began presenting them to the Royal Family.
