Crown Princess opens Design S exhibition in Athens

On Thursday 11 September, The Crown Princess opened the Design S exhibition in Athens.
Design S, also known as the Swedish Design Award, is Sweden's biggest design award. It was established in 2006.

This year a total of 19 contributions were nominated for the Design S award, and each entry was presented at the exhibition. This year's theme is design for sustainable development.

Design S in Athens is on display at Europe's largest and most modern digital planetarium. The exhibition is part of activities in Greece that are taking place during the Swedish EU Presidency.

Earlier on during the day, The Crown Princess paid a visit to the new Acropolis Museum, which is located just 300 metres away from the Acropolis. The museum was designed by the famous architect, Bernard Tschumi, and features a panoramic view over Athens.
