The Queen visited Global Summit Neuro 2020/2022 together with Queen Sofia of Spain, who opened the conference. The aim of the conference was to promote research and to improve knowledge about diseases that affect the nervous system, including Alzheimer's disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease. The conference brought together researchers from several different countries, including the 2013 Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, Thomas C. Südhof from the US.
