On Monday 15 November, The King and Queen attended a dinner at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm to celebrate the Royal Society of Naval Sciences' 250th anniversary.

In the presence of The King and Queen, the Royal Society of Naval Sciences celebrated its 250th anniversary with a dinner at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.

Rear Admiral Anders Grenstad, Chairman of the Royal Society of Naval Sciences, was The King and Queen's host for the evening.

During the dinner in the Winter Garden, the Navy Music Corps performed music including a medley of famous operatic works and the song 'Till Havs'.

The Royal Society of Naval Sciences

The Royal Society of Naval Sciences is one of ten royal academies. Founded in Stockholm in 1771, it is now Sweden's oldest military society – and one of the oldest military societies in the world.
